We dig post holes to the correct depth, set posts in concrete with proper bracing, and build the frame to ensure everything is straight, level and solid. On the Kapiti Coast we use stainless steel fixings as standard to prevent rust in the coastal air.

We install the fence boards, palings or panels, hang gates, fit latches and hardware, and complete any finishing touches. We clean up the site and walk you through the finished result to make sure you're happy with everything.

How much does fencing cost on the Kapiti Coast?
Costs depend on the length, height, material and terrain. As a rough guide, standard treated pine boundary fencing starts from around $120-$180 per lineal metre, with privacy fencing and aluminium options costing more. Gates, pool fencing and custom designs are quoted individually. The best way to get an accurate price is to book a free consultation - we'll measure up and quote on site.
What's the difference between timber and aluminium fencing?
Timber is the most popular and cost-effective choice for residential fencing on the Kapiti Coast. Treated pine is durable, versatile and can be stained or painted to suit your property. Aluminium is more expensive upfront but requires virtually no maintenance, won't rust in coastal conditions, and gives a clean, modern look. It's also the standard choice for pool fencing. We'll help you decide which option suits your property and budget during the consultation.
How long does it take to build a fence?
Most standard boundary or privacy fences take 3-5 working days depending on the length, terrain and access. Custom gates, pool fencing and more complex screening projects may take a little longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline in your quote.
Do I need a building consent for a fence?
Most standard residential fences under 2 metres in height don't require building consent. However, fences over 2 metres, fences on or near boundaries that may affect neighbours, and pool fencing all have specific requirements under the Building Act and council regulations. Pool fencing must comply with the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987. We'll advise you on what's needed for your specific situation during the quoting process.
Do you install pool fencing that meets NZ regulations?
Yes - we install pool fencing that fully complies with the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987 and NZ Building Code requirements. This includes correct gate height, self-closing and self-latching mechanisms, non-climbable zones and the required spacing between vertical members. We'll make sure your pool fence passes inspection and keeps your family safe.
