We visit your property, talk through how you want to use the space - entertaining, cooking, relaxing, family time - and assess the site for sun, wind, shelter, views and access. You'll receive a detailed quote with a design concept, material options and clear pricing.

Our team builds the foundations, frames the structures, and constructs your outdoor living area from the ground up - pergolas, kitchens, seating walls, fire features and everything in between. We coordinate all trades and keep you updated throughout the build.

How much does an outdoor living area cost?
Costs vary widely depending on what's included. A simple pergola might start from around $8,000-$15,000, while a full outdoor living area with kitchen, fire feature, built-in seating and lighting can be significantly more. Every project is different - the best way to get an accurate price is to book a free consultation so we can design to your budget.
What can you include in an outdoor living area?
Pretty much anything you can imagine. Popular options include pergolas and shade sails, outdoor kitchens with bench space and BBQ areas, fire pits and fireplaces, built-in timber or concrete seating, raised planters, outdoor lighting, privacy screening, and of course the decking or paving underneath it all. We'll help you prioritise what matters most and design a space that fits your budget.
How long does it take to build an outdoor living space?
It depends on the complexity. A standalone pergola might take 1-2 weeks. A full outdoor living area with a kitchen, fire feature, seating and lighting can take 3-6 weeks depending on the scope. We'll give you a realistic timeline in your quote and keep you updated throughout the build.
Do I need a building consent for a pergola or outdoor structure?
It depends on the structure. Freestanding pergolas and shade structures under a certain size may not need consent. However, roofed structures, anything attached to the house, and structures over a certain height or area will likely need building consent from the Kapiti Coast District Council. We'll advise you during the quoting process and can manage the consent application if needed.
Can you work with my existing deck or patio?
Absolutely. Many of our outdoor living projects are built around an existing deck or patio. We can add a pergola over your current deck, build an outdoor kitchen alongside an existing paved area, or extend and upgrade what you already have. We'll assess the condition of the existing structure and let you know what's possible.
